How to Get Your Residence Card in Korea – 2025 Guide
If you're planning to stay in South Korea for more than 90 days—as a student, remote worker, English teacher, or digital nomad—getting a Residence Card (RC) is essential. Formerly known as the Alien Registration Card (ARC), this card is your official ID in Korea and opens the door to many vital services like:
✅ Renting long-term housing
✅ Opening a Korean bank account
✅ Subscribing to mobile SIM plans
✅ Signing up for health insurance
✅ Using apps like Naver, Coupang, Yogiyo, or Baemin
Whether you're living in a rental apartment in Seoul or a guesthouse in Busan, this guide will walk you through everything you need to get your Residence Card quickly and stress-free.
🧳 Do You Need a Residence Card?
You must apply for a Residence Card within 90 days of entering Korea if:
- You hold a D visa (student, work, etc.)
- You hold a H-1 visa (working / holiday)
- You're staying longer than 90 days
- You're not on a tourist visa (B-2) or exempted visa (A-1 to A-3)
🛑 Tourists or short-term visitors do not need this card.
📅 Don’t wait too long—apply early to avoid fines or administrative headaches.
📍 Connect It to Your Accommodation
When you apply for your Residence Card, you’ll need to prove your address in Korea. That’s where our platform comes in:

✅ Get digital copies of your lease to include with your immigration documents
